For the first time since 2000, visitors can enjoy Jean-Paul Riopelle’s monumental fresco Tribute to Rosa Luxemburg as one continuous movement and in all its splendour!

The Scope

This narrative sequence of thirty paintings forming a triptych more than forty metres long dazzles in the Riopelle Passage by CGI.

The tunnel which links the new building to the existing museum and serves as a true bridge between its glass and steel architecture, providing a place of honour for contemporary art from 1960 to the present day .

The Musée’s heritage buildings, particularly the building devoted to Four Figures of Modern Art in Québec, of whom Riopelle is one.

Challenge

The impressive length of this art piece and the intention to display it behind glass in a single continuous movement was a great challenge.

Our Solutions

The design and construction of three distinctive custom wall mounted glass display cases – 4 glass sides was the ideal solution to display this impressive masterpiece.

The use of anti-reflective and ultra-clear security glass in combination with subtle internal lighting are great features that help draw visitor's attention to the vivid colors of this narrative fresco.
